Cadavre exquis
Challenge
Cadavre Exquis is a Progressive Web App (PWA) offering an immersive Halloween theme experience with intentionally horrifying illustrations blended with childlike traits and visual effects fully created for the project. The game’s goal is to write a whimsical story based on prompts given to each player. Players can also use the content generator from the provided JSON library.
Context
All media used were created specifically for the project's requirements, from the design of vectorized characters to the soundtrack production using GarageBand for iPad.
Extension
To enhance the existing application, I worked alongside an AI agent to engineer an online multiplayer version of Exquisite Corpse, building upon the original local codebase. Features include Google authentication with redirect fallback, a real-time lobby with Firebase presence, player invitations, voice dictation via the Web Speech API, multi-chapter online gameplay with atomic state synchronization, disconnection and abandonment handling, and PWA installation support. The agent accelerated technical implementation while I drove architecture decisions, reviewed generated code, and refined the user experience at each iteration.
